365 Songs – Caledonia – wishing luck to Andy Murray!

365songsThis final entry in January’s 365song collection is the beautiful Dougie MacLean song, Caledonia, and it’s dedicated to Andy Murray who will take on Roger Federer in the Australian Open starting at 8:30 GMT tomorrow morning. I’m publishing this a few hours early to help inspire Andy, although I guess he’ll have other things on his mind ;) I’m sure the whole of Scotland will be behind Andy tomorrow!

I’ve just found this site and thought I would hear you singing, as you do on CBF.
I’ve only listened to Caledonia. Music not song :-(

I don’t think the vast majority of visitors would thank me for singing, Sandy! I don’t mind singing the odd French song for Coffee Break French, but I’m afraid that’s where it stops! Thanks for listening anyway.

I love your music! Caledonia is espcially lovely. But I’m listening to The Dark Island right now and it’s good too. Are you playing by ear or do you have sheet music?

I’d like to post your music in my blog sidebar if you’re ok with that.

    Thanks for doing this project!

    Hi Kathie,

No problem about posting my music in your sidebar. I’d be grateful if you’d link to the files rather than copying them and uploading them to your own server or whatever.

Although I’m “classically trained”, I tend to play this kind of music by ear and I never play the same thing twice!

Shame the music didn’t inspire Andy – he did put up a brave fight though…

Good to hear that the accordion is coming along nicely.

Aww :) I was hoping that you were playing by sheet music. I’m also classically trained – but only to Gr 6 Royal Conservatory. I do play by ear – but not as well as you. I’d love to pick up the little extras that you add – chord pregressions etc. I could do it by listening but . . . it would be such a slow process.

oh well – I’ll keep listening every day and perhaps I’ll pick it up by osmosis.

I’m going to put your 365 button up on my blog sidebar and just link to here. Also do a blog post. I know my readers would enjoy your music.

Thanks so much for doing this!
