172/365 Songs: Non finisce così – Riccardo Fogli
We’re staying with an Italian theme today, but I don’t know very much about this song! It was performed in the 1989 Festival di San Remo, the Italian song contest, and I remembered it from a CD I bought of that year’s festival when I was working as a language assistant in Menton, France, just half an hour along the coast from San Remo. According to wikipedia Non finisce così was sung by Riccardo Fogli, and it ended up in fourth place. Courtesy of YouTube, here is the original performance. Look out for the rather strange look in Riccardo’s eyes after the first chorus! In fact, throughout the song it looks like he needs some kind of medication… Ah well, it’s a nice tune!
