Today’s song is a bit poignant: it was 30 years ago today that John Lennon was killed as he and Yoko Ono returned to their New York apartment. Happy Xmas (War is Over) had originally been released in 1971 as a protest song about the Vietnam war. It was released on 20 December 1980 following his murder and peaked at #2 in the UK charts.
